WKDQ (FM)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WKDQ 99.5 is a FM radio station in Henderson, Kentucky, serving Henderson and the Evansville, Indiana market.
[edit] HISTORY
WKDQ in the 80s was a Adult Contemporary/Oldies Hybrid. The station did ok in the ratings but in 1992 management decided to compete with WYNG and WBKR and thus flipped 99.5 to Country, a format it continues in to this day.
[edit] MASCOT
WKDQ has a mascot, a rabbit that has a blue collar type feel (perhaps inspired by Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy type comedians, who are very popular in the country market.)
