WMAY-AM is a commercial talk radio station based out of Springfield, Illinois, broadcasting on 970 AM. The station is known for live and local talk throughout the weekdays and a format of live local "self help" programming on Saturdays. Danny Daniels hosts the Sunday Morning Bandstand filled with standards from the 40's and 50's on Sunday Mornings from 8am - 11am.
Its principal competitor is WTAX.
WMAY played country before switching to its current talk format. Its managing company, Mid-West Family Broadcasting, owns local stations WNNS-FM, WQLZ-FM, and WYVR-FM.
The WMAY callsign has been in use at least since 1930, when it was a station in St. Louis, Missouri.

Popular WMAY-AM programs include Jim Leach in the morning with news and discussion from the left, conservative talkback radio in "Talk Back Now with Pamela Furr"; humorous cultural satire from Johnny Molson and Andy Lee in the "Molson & Lee Show" which is well known and on its way to busting "Scammers" throughout the World; Former Congressman Jack Davis and Dave Kelm here, and the syndicated programs "The Lars Larson Show" with Lars Larson, and Jay Severin.
