According to IMDb, the first attempt at a live-action Wonder Woman was entitled "Who's Afraid of Diana Prince?", rather than "Whatever Happened to Diana Prince?", as is suggested here.

[edit] Mayor of Encino, California???

I find the section regarding Lyle Waggoner's "mayorship" of the community of Encino, California to be odd considering that Encino is a district within the City of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley. Yes, it has its own postal designation, but that's it. Of course, it's not hard to imagine many of the gargantuan-sized communities to be their own municipalities, but Encino is not. Does anyone have any further information? Perhaps it was in some honorary capacity? --Larry G 08:50, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clean up

This page has become rambling and a little disorganised. Can I suggest the following? :

  1. Section the page up better, giving each of the three Lynda Carter seasons its own top-level section.
  2. Reorder some of the text so it forms more of a narrative on the progression of the show. The CBS section jumps about a bit chronologically.
  3. Detours, like those on fragmented continuity, should be given their own section, so not to interrupt the flow of the main text.
  4. Do we really need the 'defeated by' lines at the end of the plot synopsis? Surely this information would be better off in the body of the story (or on a specialist superheroine fantasies website) ?
Okay - I've restructured the text just a little to break it up more on season boundaries with a more consistent hierarchy, relocated the images so they match with the text they are positioned by, and hidden the 'defeated' lines. The main body of the text seems to deal in detail with differences between each season and with the comic book itself. Perhaps if these were compacted into bullet point lists it might 'make room' for material on guest artists, production details, etc...? (There is a point at which a text becomes too verbose, such that it discourages readers to give it their full attention. I think this article might be reaching that theoretical limit(?)) JavaKid

[edit] Continuity

A quick note on the continuity debate. In Return of Wonder Woman Diana is shown 'hacking' IRA to plant a cover story for her new secret identity, including three years past experience with the IADC. The Volcanoes dialogue is ambiguous - "it's been two years" clearly sounds like the characters have met before, but the statement isn't qualified, so really it could refer to anything (two years since one if them left the IADC?). Although it is clear Diana and her enemy recognise each other, this may be by reputation alone. Is there any evidence in the episode they met face to face? (Note: it might be a good idea just not to take continuity on programs like this too seriously :-)

Please sign your comments. Granted that these shows were never airtight in their continuity, the episode in question (which I recently saw on the DVD) clearly indicates a face-to-face meeting. There is also another season 2 episode ... the one with Henry Gibson ... in which an event from many months before is referenced. There are numerous websites devoted to the TV show that also discuss this continuity issue. 23skidoo 14:51, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
Before editing the entry I actually went and reviewed the uncut copies of both the episodes in question, specifically for the purpose of checking what had actually been said. In "Return of..." Diana does establish that she has been at the IADC three years before joining Steve Trevor. In "Volcanoes" (assuming we at both talking about the same sequence) the dialogue between the two characters certainly does not suggest a face to face meeting, merely that the two know of each other. From memory: Diana recognises Chapman, and is met with a response of "Well, well well, Diana Prince. Its been a long time. Two years?" - which certainly hints at past involvement - but isn't conclusive, as he fails to qualify exactly what the 'two years' refers to. It may be specifically Diana, or it may be the IADC in general. A small point - but an important one. Diana then rolls off a rap sheet like list of the Professor's past employment - a very perculiar thing to do for an old friend. (There are numerous web sites claiming man never went to the moon - which proves what?) R5
There seems to be some dispute over this point (as is often the way with continuity issues). To avoid possible conflict, I have added the actual dialogue I assume is being refered to, plus some extra detail, and recrafted a couple of para's to simplify them and remove any bias either way. I think this is enough to let readers decide for themselves(?) Couldn't find any of the "numerous websites", but hopefully my edits capture the key points. (From the looks of things the two year/Joe references were a script editor's botch up, not a serious attempt to recon. If I had my way continuity discussion would be removed from Wiki articles and banished to fan forums, but thankfully I don't have my way  :-) JavaKid 20:52, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
