WoodenBoat

WoodenBoat is an American magazine that has been published since 1974. It is written for wooden boat owners, admirers, builders, and designers. Its publication marked the start of a trend - a growing interest in traditional boats and boat building techniques and the development thereof.
By the early 1970s, Fibreglass and resin composites had almost eliminated traditional timber construction from the majority of yacht and small craft yards in the United States. Only a small number of specialist builders used traditional framing methods or explored the new technologies of "cold moulding" and strip planking.
"Wooden Boat" celebrates both the old and the new. The diversity of types of craft built in this material and the interest would be repeated in other countries with publications such as "Classic Boat", "The Boatman" and "Watercraft".
