WordWeb is an international English dictionary and thesaurus program for Microsoft Windows computers that is also available online.
Unlike similar programs where the dictionary and thesaurus are separate programs, the thesaurus is integrated into the dictionary. Also unlike most thesaurus programs, instead of just showing synonyms and related words, the program shows a more detailed categorization of the relationship between the words. The program shows synonyms, antonyms, types (e.g. flower has daisy as one of its types), type of (e.g. a comedy is a type of play), parts (e.g. tree is one of the parts of a forest), part of (e.g. bumper is a part of a car), and similar (e.g. big is similar to huge).
The program is available as a free WordWeb version and a paid WordWeb Pro version. It is based on an extended version of the database from the WordNet project at Princeton University. The free version does not have the word list, search, anagram, or customization features. Use of the free version is subject to license terms: it may not be used by people owning an SUV or taking more than four flights a year.
Users can actively improve the dictionary and thesaurus by submitting errors and enhancement requests (missing word/phrase/sense).
