Word Power is the debut album by Divine Styler, released in 1989 on Epic Records. On this album, Divine raps about been proud of hertitage (hightlighted on It's a Black Thing), and features Bilal Bashir (who made later instrumentals for the likes of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Everlast), who later re-released this album in instrumental form, in 2005. The album is best known for the songs 'Ain't Sayin Nothin' which featured a sample scratch noise similar to the sound used in House Of Pain's song, Jump Around and Cypress Hill's Insane In The Brain, and 'Freestyler', which features samples of James Brown.
