World e-Sports Games
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
World eSport Games (WEG) is a competitive, international video game league with elite amateur and pro gamers from around the world battling to be crowned world champions. WEGs goal is "developing an accessible, world-class experience for broadcast and web TV broadcast viewers around the world."[1]
In December 2005, over 20,000 fans attended the WEG Grand Finals matches held in Beijing[citation needed], while broadcast partners claimed 2 million internet viewers on the Mandarin-language broadcasts.[citation needed] The April 2006 WEG Masters tournament was held in Hangzhou, with wNv Gaming taking home the Counter-Strike title and 4Kings-ToD claiming the WarCraft III crown.
Headquartered in Seoul, WEG maintains offices in Los Angeles, Hamburg, and Beijing.
