[edit] Wouterbot, archived pages, and user talk
I noticed that WouterBot has done disambig edits on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/DNA Lounge, Wikipedia:Help desk/Archive1, and a bunch of User Talk page, User talk:Jonnabuz.
You should consider modifying the bot to exclude cases such as these, as all of these are slightly questionable edits. In the first case, the page is no longer live, and should be maintained as-is as a a record of the vote. Similarly, any archived pages should be that: archives. Finally, editing User Talk pages, unless it is your own entry, is usually considered bad form.
That said, WouterBot is generally doing good work. Thanks for doing this. -- Kaszeta 14:10, 5 May 2005 (UTC)
- About editing user pages, I do think it's useful to disambiguate them. The owner can easily revert if he disagrees, but in 99% of the caes I 'm sure they'll agree with the edit.
[edit] revert GDP
Ok. Do what you want with it. I put the note up on the talk page exactly to avoid this.
I didn't list guanosine diphosphate as a GDP link because last week it had 1 page linked to it, but on thinking further, I should have simply redirected GDP to gross domestic product and created GDP (disambig). --Bookandcoffee 17:15, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WouterBot
Does he have bot permission yet? He's running awfully quickly... most bots run only a couple of times a minute to prevent being a server hog. – ClockworkSoul 21:13, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
- I've changed the delay the longer intervals. Bot Permission? I don't know. I added my name to the bots-list.
But appearantly not many people patrol there? WouterVH 23:09, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WouterBot action: Climax -->Coventry Climax
I'm glad someone set their bot to do that! I started doing them manually (anonymously), and saw how many edits there were to go through. I was thinking "wow, I have a lot on my plate!". Thanks for a valuable 'bot service! On to other tasks!--Unfocused 21:19, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
