WPTV is a closed-circuit television broadcasting station at Ranchview High School. It was created in order to provide a more entertaining way to bring across school news to the student body as well as give students that have an interest in broadcasting an opportunity to work on things such as anchoring, video editing, broadcasting, journalisim, and so on.

[edit] History
WPTV was started late in the 2005-2006 School year, before which it had very few and infrequent appearances at Ranchview, mostly when the administration needed to show a school wide video. It had humble beginings as a simple broadcast of the anchors simply reading prompts off paper. As things got more organized and more students got involved. WPTV has grown into a vision of a doing the best possible with limited resources. It is currently an organization of around 10 students and with a feedback system for the entrie school and anyone from the outside to participate in this process of choosing programming.
