I get the feeling the entire history section of this article is ripped from a book. If it's an old source (the map reportedly has an expired copyright) someone should include a citation if it came from one.

The history section of this article is ridiculously anglo-centric. It consistently refers to "civilized Indians" as if they were previously savage. Racist and just bad history. --Alasdair MacIntyre 22:03, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

On the contrary, I find the history to be Wyandot(te)/Huron-centric. Not that I mind, especially as a resident of the county, to hear that perspective, it's just not even close to NPOV. Perhaps within the context of a parallel presentation that included the European settlers (not just 'anglo', but the French, Spanish, German, and Croatians who left their marks on the area)? --The Monster 02:33, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

I have found the source of the material in the history section. The URL is [1]. It was transcribed from the following book: Transcribed from History of Wyandotte County Kansas and its people ed. and comp. by Perl W. Morgan. Chicago, The Lewis publishing company, 1911. 2 v. front., illus., plates, ports., fold. map. 28 cm. [Vol. 2 contains biographical data. Paged continuously.] I don't know if this constitutes a copyright violation or not, but it would be safer to rewrite the material. Logophile 14:53, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
