View north over Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado, shows South High School high on a hill on the west side of Cheyenne Street, between 3rd (Third) and 4th (Fourth) Streets (now 13th and 14th). The two-story brick schoolhouse was the first graded school in the county. Features include quoins, bell tower, and window hood molds with keystones. Scattered wood frame and brick buildings show downhill. Photo taken between 1872 and 1874.
