[edit] History
Xbox World 360 began life as Xbox World, with issue one released in early 2003, over a year after the Xbox's release. Published by Computec Media, the editor at launch was Pat Garratt (now of Eurogamer), and the managing editor was former CU Amiga editor Tony Horgan.
Xbox World, alongside sister magazine PlayStation World, was acquired by Future Publishing in late 2003. The majority of the staff departed during the magazine's move from London to Future's Bath offices. The editor for the first Future-published Xbox World was Lee Hall.
In September 2005, Xbox World relaunched as Xbox World 360 under the guidance of former NGC editor Tim Weaver.
Future Publishing's press release said of the magazine: "Following a comprehensive redesign, Xbox World 360 reflects the excitement surrounding a new generation of hardware, and the all-encompassing entertainment experience offered by the Xbox 360. Uncompromising in its mission to tell the truth about the latest games, Xbox World 360 has become a better looking, brighter and busier magazine, while retaining its no-nonsense attitude."

[edit] High-scoring games
Until issue 31, Xbox World rated games out of ten. Very few games received the full ten out of ten score. Among these elite titles were Halo 2 and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.
Following the redesign, Xbox World 360 has adopted a percentage-based rating system. Games to score 90% or over are:
- Gears of War 93%
- Project Gotham Racing 3 92%
- Rainbow Six Vegas 92%
- Dead Rising 91%
- Splinter Cell: Double Agent 91%
- Pro Evolution Soccer 6 90%
- Far Cry Instincts 90%
- Call of Duty 2 90%
- Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 90%
