[edit] History
Founded after the closure of previous projects called Radioactivo 98.5 and Orbita 105.7, some of the most popular and relevant radio hosts of the former stations are now working for Reactor. Because of the official nature of the radio station there is a strong tendency to promote Mexican or Spanish speaking bands, situation that has defined the personality of the project as the only opportunity for the independent market of alternative or out of the mainstream bands in Mexico.

One half of the radio station is Rock format and reactor helps many mexico city local bands to become famous by giving them airplay time in the frecuency, that helps many mexican rock bands to become famous.

Reactor is famous by being the only radio station in Meixco City to give a tribute show to death rappers like 2pac, Biggie Smalls, Eazy-E and some Mexican Rappers.
[edit] Radio Edits Problem
Reactor doesn't use to play radio edits (Clean Versions) so curse words can be aired by taking advantage of the freedom of speech in Mexico, although it remains controversial between the most conservative people.
Currently the station is under threat of being taking over by the government of Mexico City for official purposes only, thus destroying once more the only alternative to commercial prefab music. The row is turning sour as the station is highly popular among young people, but also the Mexico City governor, Marcelo Ebrad, is popular among the city's youth.
