XoftSpySE (formerly known as XoftSpy) is a shareware anti-spyware program developed by ParetoLogic which, apart from spyware, is also capable of detecting adware, malware, keyloggers, trojans, worms, toolbars and hijackers. XoftSpySE is a major improvement over its older counterpart XoftSpy. XoftSpySE features dramatically decreased scanning times making the program capable of completing a full-system scan within several minutes. Other improvements include a deeper scan of the Windows registry and an extended list of malicious files discovered within registry keys and registry values. The program also enables a user to schedule scans and add objects they consider a false-positive to the 'Ignore List'. The database definitions are updated regularly and XoftSpySE is protected from over 200, 000 malicious objects.
Prior to 2004, XoftSpy was considered rogue software by Spyware Warrior[1] but was subsequently removed due to changing their practices. It should be noted that although the program is "shareware", the software will not remove any spyware unless a user pays the license fee.
