Ybarra Elementary is a relativly small school located in walnut but is a part of the Rowland Unified School District. The current Principal Ms. Lopez has just replaced the longstanding principal Mrs. Black in 2006.^{[citation needed]} Its' A.P.I. score was over 900 for 4 consecutive years.^{[citation needed]} The G.A.T.E. Program (Gifted And Talented Education) has produced some remakable students such as Richmond Wong who scored 4th in the nationwide event Math Counts.^{[citation needed]} On the campus is a state of the art computer lab headed by Mrs. Galt.^{[citation needed]}
