[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:TheBORDERHOUNDS Title Page.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:TheBORDERHOUNDS Title Page.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Psychonaut 18:50, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Brimstone images
Thank you for uploading your various Brimstone images. However, they are all currently is missing information on their copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. They may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the images. If you know this information, then you can add copyright tags to the image description pages.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Psychonaut 18:53, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- I note you have changed the licensing tag on all images to indicate that they are free to use for any purpose. However, you provide no proof of this assertion. I have therefore reported these images on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images. —Psychonaut 21:21, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your e-mails
It's probably best if you don't contact me (or other users) by e-mail about issues which don't need to be discussed privately. Keeping the discussion on Wikipedia facilitates collaboration; you're more likely to get help if many people can read your query. Copyright questions should be discussed on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Anyway, to respond to your points, Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission should answer any questions you may have with respect to the wording of permission, how to obtain it, and from whom to obtain it. Please accept my apologies for not addressing your questions individually, but I don't have a lot of time. —Psychonaut 22:41, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I didn't intend to contact you personally, but I had not heard back from anyone after I posted my question. Thank you for your time though. I have posted under the questions page, and I will wait for an answer on there. -YeLLeY511 02:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Indefinitely blocked as a spam-only account
{{indef}}- NYC JD (make a motion) 17:13, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
The article you created was deleted under WP:CSD criterion G11 - purely promotional As to the images, Wikipedia has strict policies about copyrighted media that are too detailed for me to explain on one foot, but suffice it to say none of the dozens of photos you uploaded would have survived copyright review. I have consulted with another administrator, user:Jersyko, on your block, and he has agreed. You don't have a single non-brimstone-related contribution to your name.
I am not going to lift your block. Feel free to request "unblock" review by another administrator if you choose. - NYC JD (make a motion) 17:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- I am sorry that you feel this way. The only reason I have not written any other articles is because I am a brand new user, and had not yet finished my first article. I had other articles that I wished to create as well, but have not gotten to it yet. I hope someone else will understand. Thank you for your time anyway. - YeLLeY511 18:53, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unblock
{{unblock|I am new to Wikipedia and was trying to create an article for a wrestler named Brimstone. My account has been blocked and I wanted to try and appeal this block. I did not mean for the "spamming". I was trying to upload pictures, and THEN choose which ones to use on the article. I did not mean it to be portrayed as spam. Now that I know, in the future, I would choose the pictures before uploading them. I also wanted to point out that I am NOT a paid promoter of Brimstone, nor have I ever been. I was just trying to create an article I felt would be of interest. Please let me know how we can resolve this matter. Thank you for your time. -[[User:YeLLeY511|YeLLeY511]] 18:53, 27 February 2007 (UTC)}}
- Thank you for appealing the block. I will revise my article to better meet Wikipedia standards. In the mean time, is there something specific that I'm supposed to do to unblock my account, or is it automatically unblocked? - YeLLeY511 20:34, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- You are no longer blocked. You should be able to edit now; try logging out and back in again. If this doesn't work, try {{unblock-auto}}, as your IP may be rangeblocked or autoblocked. Sandstein 20:54, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unblock Auto Block
I was told that I am currently unblocked, but I still cannot edit. My User page still says I am a blocked user. Can someone please help me. -YeLLeY511 21:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've fixed your user page. Please stand by until a technically experienced admin comes along. It's very strange that the unblock template shows you as editing from 127.0.0.1; this should not be possible. I'll drop a note on WP:ANI. Sandstein 22:15, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

- Thank you again. I guess I can understand why both my user name and IP address were blocked, but I don't know why only the user name would be active after an unblock. I suppose I will find out when someone responds. Hope it wasn't too much of a bother. - YeLLeY511 22:45, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
((unblock-auto))
- Try now. Autoblocks are a little more black voodoo magic than we like to admit, in my opinion. ;) – Luna Santin (talk) 01:03, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question about my article
{{helpme}} "I originally wrote an article on here which was deleted because it not written in a neutral tone. The article was on a wrestler. I was then blocked indefinitely because one user felt I was a paid-promoter (which I'm not)(p.s. WP:BITE). I was unblocked and told to rewrite the article before re-posting it. I was wondering If I could put up the stats and finishing moves, while I take time to re-write the article, being that those items are purely informational. I am asking first, as not to risk being blocked again. Thanks." -YeLLeY511 16:02, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't looked into the issue or seen the article, but it might be safer to write the entire article first in your userspace, and get someone like an admin to quickly check it out to see what if it's okay. Usually after people have been blocked under these circumstances, future blocks for the same reason are longer; and I'm sure yoi don't want to go and get blocked again
;-)

[edit] Citation Troubleshooting
I've noticed on some pages that you can reference a citation several times within the same article -but without listing it multiple times- and have seen how the reference section looks... but can't figure out how to do it myself. I've looked on many citation/reference pages, but still can't seem to get it. Can anyone help?
Thanks, YeLLeY511 04:39, 9 March 2007 (UTC).
The best way to do this is with the footnote method, explained at Wikipedia:Footnotes#Citing a footnote more than once --After Midnight 0001 04:47, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The answer
The answer is really quite simple.[1] There is nothing to it.[2] Nothing at all.[1]
[edit] The code
The answer is really quite simple.<ref name='foo'>This is the first reference</ref> There is nothing to it.<ref>this is the other</ref> Nothing at all.<ref name='foo'/>
[edit] references
Hope this helps. --Selket Talk 04:49, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright permission.
You need to "note on the talk page (not the article itself) or on the image description page that permission has been sent", not on the OTRS talk page. That way people who want to check the permission can see the note. -- Jeandré, 2007-03-16t19:00z
- I've updated the confusing WP:COPYREQ page. -- Jeandré, 2007-03-16t19:05z

- Re [2], I don't upload fair use images so I dont know much about it, but my understanding is that you could upload a small, low resolution version for use in an article that has critical commentary on the event. Read Wikipedia:Fair use and WP:IDP#Fair use rationale to find out if it can be used on Wikipedia. -- Jeandré, 2007-03-18t02:21z
