Jerri must try to figure out what her dreams are in time for her presentation at the end of Career Week, as Mr. Jellineck tries to cut it as a professional artist.

- In this episode, we learn that:
- Jerri's favorite color is rust.
- Jerri's favorite food is meatballs.
- If Jerri was an animal, she'd be a snake
- (Amy Sedaris is actually afraid of snakes, a fact she reveals in the DVD commentary for Season 1, Episode 3, Dreams on the Rocks.)
- We learn that Chuck Noblet secretly wants to be a rock star, a fact which he references in later episodes. He idolizes the rock band Kansas in particular.
- Characters from the series are playing "Carry On My Wayward Son" at the end of the show during the dance sequence, with the exception of the guitarist, whom it is believed was the boyfriend of one of the Fagan girls, a family who appear as extras in almost every episode. According to the DVD commentary, the creators wanted to get the actual band Kansas to do the performance, but they backed out due to a scheduling conflict with a reunion tour which, as it turned out, had to be cancelled.
