Yogi's Treasure Hunt
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yogi's Treasure Hunt was a segment of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera.
In 1985, twelve years after Yogi's Gang, Hanna-Barbera brought Yogi and the gang back in a new treasure hunting cartoon. Yogi Bear, along with Boo-Boo, Ranger Smith, Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy, Huckleberry Hound, Quick Draw McGraw, Snagglepuss, and Snooper and Blabber, would go on treasure hunts, as assigned by Top Cat. They traveled aboard a ship called the S.S Jelly Roger, which was like the ark on Yogi's Gang. Dick Dastardly and Muttley would try to beat them to the treasure by using their usual dirty tricks. Regular guest stars on the show included Hokey Wolf. Dick Datsardly and Muttley's car the Mean Machin didn't feature but they appeared in a sumbarine called the SS. Dirty Tricks
Yogi's Treasure Hunt was part of The Funtastic World Of Hanna-Barbera lineup in syndication until 1988. It now airs on the Boomerang digital cable channel.
Tom Ruegger (later a writer and producer for Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs) worked on this show. Charles Grosvenor, later the producer/director of most of The Land Before Time direct-to-video sequels, directed the show.
Two comic stories based on the show appeared in issue #18 of the Cartoon Network Presents comic book from DC Comics.
