Youngite
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Youngite is an agatized breccia mineral from an area near Hartville, Wyoming.
This composite stone has a breciated Jasper center overlaid with a grayish translucent druzy quartz. It often looks some what like fuzzy brains and usually fluoresces green. The jasper center is lacy and ranges in color from a light tan to a very pretty peach or salmon color. This deposit is basically dug out.
Youngite is sometimes polished into cabochons for jewelry or other decorative shapes.
