Yu-Shan (Exalted)

Exalted is a role-playing game published by White Wolf Publishing. The game is classified as high fantasy, but may be more accurately described as "mythic fantasy," as the original developer specifically avoided drawing on J. R. R. Tolkien for inspiration. In the cosmology of Exalted, Yu-Shan is a the realm of the gods.
Above Creation lies Yu-Shan. Yu-Shan, also called Heaven or the Celestial City, is a continent-sized metropolis which serves as the dwelling place of the gods and home to the Loom of Fate, from which all Creation springs. Once the Primordials dwelt here, playing the Games of Divinity while the gods spent their time in Creation maintaining the order of the world and living on the Blessed Isle. In time the gods grew discontent in their slavery, but could raise no hand against their creators, so they empowered the Exalted to rise up and make war against the Primordials. The Primordials were slain or imprisoned and Yu-Shan truly became the dwelling of the gods, where the peaches of immortality grow in orchards and celestial wine is served at the dining tables.

There are numerous gods in multiple levels of the celestial bureaucracy that run the day to day workings of all of Creation. Below are some of the gods of note.
[edit] Lytek - God of Exaltation
Lytek was once held in prominence in Yu-Shan. It is his task to tend to the Exalted Essences that belonged to the greater Exalted (non-Dragon-Blooded). As an Exalted soul passes into death, it is he who takes the Essence and prepares it for the next worthy soul to possess. However, after the great Usurpation, he fell greatly in power as most of the Solar Exalted souls were locked away. With the return of the Solars after the breaking of the Jade Prison, he is coming to power once more.
