Yuzhnoe Izmailovo

Yuzhnoe Izmailovo (Sothern Izmailovo) (Russian - Южное Измайлово) is a district east of Moscow, just North of Shose Entuziastov (шоссе Энтузиастов) Route and west of Moscow Ring Highway (МКАД). It is borders Ivanovskoe district to the south and Izamilovo Park to the north and west. In 1960 it’s become part of Moscow, after all territories inside Moscow Ring Highway (MKAD МКАД) were annexed to Moscow City proper. Until 1992 Yuzhnoe Izmailovo used to be part of Pervomaisky District of Moscow, since reorganization of Moscow districts in 1992 it become part of Eastern Administrative Okrug.The place is in a one of the green areas of Moscow. Izmailovo Park one of the biggest forested areas in urban places in Europe was right across the street. The place was build up in mid-70s as an Olympic village for Moscow Olympics of 1980 but eventually was converted to bedroom community for fast growing population of the city. Yuzhnoe Izamilovo is only less then an hour away from the center of the city on public transportation (bus and Moscow metro).
