Zack Sabre Jr is an up and coming young British professional wrestler who mainly wrestles for his home promotion NWA-UK Hammerlock but can be seen regularly in Triple X Wrestling and other promotions around the country. Zack Sabre Jr’s wrestling style is a blend of the traditional British technical style that Hammerlock is known for and a Japanese Junior Heavyweight influence.
[edit] Career
Zack enrolled in the Hammerlock wrestling school at the beginning of January 2002 aged 14, and after making a great impression he began competing in exhibition matches at small house shows and in Battle Royal matches to gain experience. He debuted for NWA-UK in March 2004, aged 16, in his Hometown of Sheerness teaming up with Hammerlock veteran Tank taking on the team of Seek N Destroy, Sabre Jr picked up the win in his first major match.
During the summer of 2004 Sabre Jr was generally found to be teaming with fellow young up and comers Danny Williams and David Deville, and competed against Current New Japan wrestler Fergal Devitt on quite a few occasions.
Zack entered into many strong matches for Hammerlock and on October 22nd 2005 in Whitehaven Cumbria Sabre Jr defeated NWA-UK Junior Heavyweight champion Falcon for the title in a fantastic match after his Sabre Driver.
Zack kick started 2006 successfully with a win a convincing win over Mat ‘Devilman’ Neal at an AWA:UK show and also that month teamed up at the time NWA-UK Heavyweight champion and UFC legend Dan ‘The Beast’ Severn at a Hammerlock event in Margate, Kent.
Zack made many successful title defences throughout the following months of 2006, and also began teaming up with Jimmy Havoc, in NWA-UK and at Triple X.
Sabre Jr competed against his strongest challenge when he faced Pro Wrestling NOAH’S Go Shiosaki at an Real Quality Wrestling (RQW) Event in Waterloo Ville. A very technically minded battle was won by Shiosaki with a German Suplex.
Zack Sabre Jr’s title defence at the Tap n Tin during a NWA-UK show in September against former NWA Ireland Champion Paddy Morrow received great critical acclaim from those in attendance, in a match that mixed technical wrestling with harsh strikes and kicks, and great support from the crowd.
Towards the end of the year Sabre Jr faced up and coming young wrestler Stiro, once in a straight singles match and once again in a 2/3 falls match. Both matches saw the two go hold for hold in exciting matches, with the 2/3 falls match being favoured by fans in attendance.
Sabre started off his singles campaign in 2007 with a win over Ashton T. Smith at Triple X Wrestling’s first show of the year. 2007 should see Zack Sabre Jr’s busiest year yet as the young technical wrestler begins to break out.
