Zandik

Zandik or zindik was used in pre-Islamic Persia to denote two rather different categories of people: Manichaens and Zurvanite Zoroastrians.
The term comes from the word from "zindiq", or those who based their teaching on the Zand, the commentary on the Avesta rather than on the Avesta itself.
