Zultys

Zultys is a manufacturer of Voice-over-IP (VoIP) equipment for Small to Medium sized Businesses (SMBs), with corporate headquarters in Sunnyvale, California. Products include IP phone switches (PBXs), a wide variety of IP telephones including wireless IP phones and conference phones, and assorted IP Telephony peripherals.
As a recent player in the VoIP telephony market dominated by established corporate giants from the traditional voice sector, such as Nortel, and the IP data sector, such as Cisco Systems, and competing with other VoIP-centric startup manufacturers, such as Avaya, Zultys has a relatively small market share, but have won various product and innovation awards.

Zultys was founded in 2001 by Ian Milnes during the IP Telephony boom of the late 1990's and early 2000's. In September 2006, after firing most of their employees due to a lack of capital funding, Zultys filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in the Northern District of California court. In October of the same year, after bidding by Omaha, Nebraska-based InPath Devices and Pivot VoIP, Zultys was bought out by Pivot VoIP for US$2.65 million plus debt obligations, and will merge operations and product portfolios with Pivot. Pivot VoIP is backed by Israeli IP telephony company Telrad Connergy, which in turn had been established by former Zultys Engineers, who now plan to continue the company's existing operations.
