本條目譯自英文維基，條目原名「History of computing hardware」，其中「Computing」在原文中的意義類似於「用於計算的工具」，故條目名稱使用「計算機」（「計算器」為「Calculator」），一直到近代計算機通電後的「Computer」，部份譯名才使用「電腦」一詞。

我在翻譯計算機硬體歷史上，有一段是：「The engineers in the Apollo program to send a man to the moon made many of their calculations on slide rules, which were accurate to 3 or 4 significant figures.」其中的「significant figure」（或Significance arithmetic，或significant figure rules）找不到標準譯名（目前暫譯有效數字），懇請數學相關人士幫忙。WiDE 寫於世界時間 01:32 2007年4月4日 (UTC)
