[edit] Song information
This song was written by G. Berlanga and I. Canut, and produced by Estéfano. It was originally a hit for 1980s band Spanish Alaska y Dinarama. Alaska y Dinarama's version of the song was later recognized as a gay anthem by the Spanish language-speaking LGBT community.
The song describes a person who is criticized, and pointed-at. However, she exclaims "Who Cares?" throughout he song.
The lyrics say:
The people trow signs at me
They point at me
They whisper behind my back
And I don't really care
But, what matters
If I am distinct from them
I am nobody's property
I do not have an owner
I know that they criticize me
They like to hate me
Jealousy corrodes them
My life oppresses them
Why is it that way?
It is not my fault
My circumstances insults them
I decide my own destiny
The one that I choose
Who cares what I do?
Who cares what I say?
This is how I am and this is how i will be
I will never change
It could be my fault
For not following the norm
It is too late
To change now
I will be firm to my convictions
I will reinforce my positions
I decide my own destiny
The one that I choose
Who cares what I do?
Who cares what I say?
This is how I am and this is how i will be
I will never change
Who cares what I do?
Who cares what I say?
This is how I am and this is how i will be
I will never change
