[edit] Image Tagging Image:Heathernorth.gif
![]() |
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Heathernorth.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Longhair 02:28, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:GAKILL1.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:GAKILL1.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:06, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Monkees episodes
Hi AarHan3, are all those episode summaries for The Monkees copied from that tripod website in the external links? If so, they will all have to be deleted. We're not allowed to copy text like that here. Adam Bishop 18:54, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, it's your page...well that's alright then, I think. (Seems kind of redundant then, though.) Adam Bishop 19:30, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:NewSDMovies DickVanDyke.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. [edit] Geocities
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! You recently added an external link to Geocities in an article. It has been removed because the link pointed to a non-encyclopedic source. Please refer to Wikipedia's policy on external links for more information. |
[edit] Tom and Jerry Show
Is that text in that Tom and Jerry Show article you created copied from your page? If so, the article will have to be deleted. As Adam Bishop says, "We're not allowed to copy text like that here." Gabrielkat 12:05, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Errors
You're going through and adding a lot of dead links and capitalization errors to articles. For example, don't capitalize "of" in a title (e.g., "The Ballad of Gilligan's Island"). Don't capitalize "the" in the middle of a sentence before names like the Harlem Globetrotters. (The article referred to them as characters, not as the name of a business.) Your enthusiasm is great and you're adding some useful information to these articles. Just be careful. Doczilla 08:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Little sex.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Little sex.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 02:33, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:The Godzilla Power Hour.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:The Godzilla Power Hour.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.
Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 11:46, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Star Trek production numbers
Hi. I'm curious as to where the production number "60043-79" has come from for Turnabout Intruder. I've not seen numbers of this form before. Could you tell us your source? Thanks, Morwen - Talk 11:00, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. That's rather curious. I shall investigate a bit more. Possibly 60043 denotes a code for Star Trek? Morwen - Talk 14:03, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Heather_North_Kenney.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Heather_North_Kenney.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 16:18, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
