Air Italy

Air Italy is a new airline based in Gallarate in Italy. It operates scheduled services and inclusive tour charters from most Italian cities to destinations in Europe, Africa, South Asia, Middle East, and the Caribbean. The base is Malpensa Airport, but some flights are operated from Rome and Verona.[citation needed]

The airline started operations on 29 May 2005. It was set up with a 40% shareholding by Marchin Investments BV, 40% by BVMS Limited, and 20% by Pathfinder Sa.[citation needed] An independent investment company has acquired a 40% share in Air Italy for 280m euros and the funding is to be used to acquire a further three Boeing 767 aircraft in 2007 and 2008 for services to leisure destinations in Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean [2].
