Alex Niedt (born April 21, 1985), is an American musician and singer whose material has been released solely on the internet. He is the only person featured on any of his recordings, which so far have ranged from ambient instrumentals to experimental R&B. His material is known for being musically and lyrically dark.
[edit] 2001 - 2003
During these years, Niedt released three different song sets on the internet, attracting a small following. This material sounded similar to sadcore artists like Mark Eitzel, Red House Painters, and Soul Whirling Somewhere in addition to bands such as The Cure.
[edit] 2004 - 2007
After the initial song sets, a small number of songs surfaced throughout the next few years, showing a tendency toward a more mainstream sound. One song, "The Countdown", was released on the "Something Must Break" compilation, also featuring Soul Whirling Somewhere and indie one-man project Idaho.
Niedt has stated his debut album will be released in 2007.
