He is an American Film director, producer, writer and editor. His most distinctive quality is his gritty visual aesthetic and stark representation of both characters and locations.
Early on Ferraro began his career in the theatre as an actor, he completed undergrad work in NYC While interning in the summer at the Yale school of Drama. He also holds a MA in Directing from the world renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, UK. He was a co-creator of the Avant-garde theatre group House of Borax that performed several unorthodox productions in Manhattans lower east side. While in london he was influenced by the many physical based performers and became interested in clown technique. He studied with the celebrated French clown teacher Philippe Gaulier. Ferraro went on to create a one man clown show titled "Arago" that was a hit in both the 1998 Edinburg Fringe Festival and the 1999 NYC Fringe Festival. With the public showing less interest in fringe theatre and more interest in the rapidly emerging independent film scene Ferraro saw an opportunity to reach a wider audience. He went on to produce and direct a series of short clown films shot throughout Manhattan titled Clown Series 1-10. Shortly thereafter Mr. Ferraro's focus was entirely film.
In the 90's he co-produced several music videos including Ben Folds Five, The DelRubio Triplets and several others. Beginning in 2000 he directed a string of critically acclaimed short films until 2004 saw the release of his first feature film, "Everything Unspoken" which he wrote and directed. Also in 2004 Ferraro launched his production company cympal productions. Since 2005 he has been focused short film projects and documenting current events. Several of Anthony's films have shown throughout the United States as well as Italy, Spain and Austria.
