Why is this drug prescribed?
Beclomethasone is a type of steroid used for respiratory problems. It's effective when administered as nasal sprays and its side effects, included nasal irritation, nosebleed, and sore throat, are localized. Beclovent and Vanceril are prescribed for the prevention of recurring symptoms of bronchial asthma. Topical form of it may be more effective than systemic antihistamines in relieving both nasal symptoms of allergic and nonallergic rhinitis. Treatment of chronic rhinitis may not improve until a few weeks after starting therapy.
Beconase and Vancenase are used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever and to prevent regrowth of nasal polyps following surgical removal.
