Ben Day is a radio presenter working primarily in the Shropshire region. He has been heard on BBC Radio Shropshire, BBC Radio WM, Telford FM, The Wyre and 107.1 Rugby FM. Since 18th September 2006, Ben Day has been the weekday Breakfast Show presenter on 106.5 & 107.1 The Severn, a radio station in Shrewsbury and Oswestry ^[1]. From 28th January 2007 he took over the Sunday Breakfast show at 107.4 Telford FM from Paul Shuttleworth.^[2] As well as radio work, he has also provided voiceovers for NEXT Retail and Mitsubishi Motors. Ben is also involved with 87.9 Radio Redditch - a Restricted Service License trial broadcast station in Redditch, Worcestershire - and co-presents a show with Louisa Currie during broadcasts.^[3]

The similarity of "B. Day" to the pronounciation of the word "Bidet" was the subject of a joke by Chris Moyles on Radio 1.^[4]

Ben was born in West Bromwich, West Midlands. He was educated at Adams' Grammar School in Newport, Shropshire. After leaving Sixth Form, Ben persued a career in retail, managing stores for NEXT and Gap Inc. Ben maintained an interest in radio, and became involved in campaigning for the Shrewsbury & Oswestry radio license.

Ben is a gay as a feather duster, and his current hairdo makes him show that more. Ben is from Burmingham, as I if you didnt know this already? Just listen.

Now days Ben is pimping himself all over the place, Telford Fm and the rather poorly aclaimed Radio Redditch, which should have a tagline of Truely Awful Radio.

In 2006, Ben ran the Oswestry Hope House Hospice 'Santa Run' in addition to providing the warm-up entertainment for the runners^[5]. On 16th March 2007, Ben had his chest and legs waxed as part of Red Nose Day 2007. The waxing took place at the Wynnstay Hotel, Church Street, Oswestry.^[6] According to his MNA Broadcasting personality profile, outside of work, Ben enjoys live music, writing, cooking and driving. He is also a qualified PADI SCUBA diver.
