[edit] About Telford FM
107.4 Telford FM launched on May 3rd 1999, and part of the Midland News Association who locally publish the Shropshire Star, Shropshire Magazine and Telford Journal. Telford FM broadcast their station in the Shropshire Star newspaper head office. The broadcast area covers Telford, Shropshire and the surrounding area. The station's name was arrived at via a competition in the local free newspaper - The Telford Journal. Astonishingly, the best suggestion that the local populace could arrive at for an FM station based in Telford was 'Telford FM'.
The MNA also operate two other radio stations: 107.2 MHz The Wyre broadcasting across North Worcestershire and The Severn, which launched in September 2006 across Central and North West Shropshire.
107.4 Telford FM plays a range of contemporary music including types like pop, oldies, rock and roll etc..., mixed in with lively chat from local people. The station uses local adverts, to increase sales and their local news and national news is about every hour (if not it is often), with weather from John Warner. Live Travel and parking news is broadcast everyday except Sunday.
