Bradley J. "Brad" Sherman (born October 24, 1954) is an American politician. He has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 1997, representing the 27th District of California (map). He was born in Los Angeles, California, was educated at the University of California, Los Angeles and Harvard Law School, and was a lawyer and accountant before entering the House. He also served two terms on the California State Board of Equalization.
On December 3, 2006, Sherman married Lisa Nicola Kaplan, a foreign affairs officer for the U.S. State Department[1], and the wedding was announced on the Colbert Report.
[edit] Appearance on The Colbert Report
He was interviewed by Stephen Colbert on the March 22, 2006, episode of The Colbert Report, and mainly asked about his district's large pornography business. Indeed, playing off of a long-running The Daily Show joke, Colbert ate pizza seductively while the congressman watched in bemusement. During the interview, Sherman play-acted the part of an android or robot. After Sherman's marriage to Kaplan in December 2006, Colbert asked them to hurry up and produce more Sherm-bots, a reference to the earlier robot attempt.
