Howard Philip "Buck" McKeon (born September 9, 1938), an American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 1993, representing the 25th District of California (map).
Born in Los Angeles, California, McKeon graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga. Educated at Brigham Young University, he has been the owner of a Western clothing shop since 1963. He has also served as a the chairman of a small, regional bank. McKeon was the one term mayor of Santa Clarita from 1987-88. After choosing not to run for a second term, he was elected as a member of the city council, a position he held until entering the House.
McKeon is currently serving as Ranking Member of the House Committee on Education and Labor.
McKeon is married to the former Patricia Kunz and has six children. They are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
