Etobicoke Collegiate Institute (ECI) is a large high school located in Toronto's west end overseen by the Toronto District School Board. It was founded in the fall of 1928 and is one of Toronto's oldest schools, having celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2003. The high school has about 2000 students and over 100 teachers.
ECI's school colours are garnet, green and gold.
The school mascot is a ram named Ruckus.
E.C.I's traditional rival is Richview Collegiate Institute, located about 2 miles north. Both schools compete vigorously in football, and share a somewhat similar socioeconomic demographic.
The school building has been a shooting location for a few films and commercials, including Mean Girls in 2003.
The Etobicoke Collegiate Institute extracurricular activity list is vast stretching from most sports to Model U.N. and the Robotics Team. Competing in the FIRST robotics competition (FRC)on March 29, 30 and 31.
