[edit] What's With the Swearing?
Why are there swear words?--Rat235478683--
I changed it.--Rat235478683--
- I assume you're referring to the "big damn truck". That is an exact quote from Reggie. It's found about 28 minutes into Nintendo's E3 conference if you have the video. It should probably stay there for now, at least until there's more information that can replace it. Corbo 10:10, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

- Sorry, I didn't know.--Rat235478683--
[edit] "and quite possibly, be able to be played on Nintendo Wi-fi Connection"
In this video, at the end, there is a Q & A section. Someone asked about online play and Reggie confirmed that it is Pokemon Battle Revolution that will be the first WIFI enabled game on the system. So the statement I threw in the headline may be false. --SonicProject--

[edit] European release
Does anyone know if the European release of Excite truck is March 2007 and if so why do we have to wait 4 months?
- If it is delayed, it's the typical "Europe gets screwed" bit that it has always had to endure since at least the SNES days: delayed games, unreleased games. poorly translated ones, less free items, etc. Hbdragon88 05:34, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

- So when is the exact release date here in europe ? I've been looking at multiple sites, and they all give different anwsers. 15 jan ( www.nedgame.nl ), 23 feb ( www.gameplay.co.uk ), "march" ( http://www.dimensionplus.com/ ), "february" ( www.insidegamer.nl ). So what is it, anyone have anything official? Captain duck 14:36, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Controls
I have noticed that this article says that the controller must be held with the face up, rather than towards the player, even gong so far as to say that the "Wii Wheel" is incompatible. Well, I don't know what game you people are playing, but this one works fine with the controller facing the player; in fact, I prefer to play that way and I think that it makes the jumps easier, as well as being more realistic (where is the steering wheel in your car?). I don't want to just remove the statements, because they're probably there for a reason, but I would like some clarification. Thanks. -Platypus Man | Talk 21:24, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- The Ubisoft wheel is just for show and doesn't actually affect the games, so ANY game that doesn't use the Nunchuk (like Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam) can be used with the wheel. It's just not very practical (the same way the Resident Evil 4 chainsaw controller can be used for other games). TJ Spyke 03:27, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
You are mistaken. Many games make use of the IR pointer. The wheel blocks IR comminication. The wheel will usually also interfere with the way you are suspossed to hold this thing. The wheel works great for Excite truck. Sometimes, i don't use the wheel, as I let someone else use it during 2 player mode. I notice the difference. I would like to get another one sometime. I would like the incompatibility statement removed. The game does not care if the wheel is held parallel or perdendicular to the ground.
- It's not that it's incompatible, it's just not the way the game is meant to be played. Ubisoft's 2 titles, Monster Trucks and GT Pro were designed with the wheel in mind. The Wii remote is held horizontally, and rotating it in a circular fashion in respect to the face buttons of the Wii Remote (think of the Home button as that axis, and rotation the controller circilar around that) is the steering method in those games, which is why the wheel makes sense. ExciteTruck and Tony Hawk, however, treat the Wii remote as a handle bar of sorts, and it's tilting the elvation of one side compared to the other achieves the turning (imaging an bar running across the "-", Home, and "+" Button, those 2 games uses a tilting mechinism that relies on that as the rotational axis). If you use the wheel with ExciteTruck, it's not that it's not incompatible, it's only for show and for the "feel".--AlphaTwo 05:45, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
"Acceleration and braking is done by pushing the 1 and 2 buttons" This suggest that accelerating is done with the 1 button and braking with 2. It's the other way around, so I'll edit it.
