Gail Schoettler
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gail S. Schoettler was Lieutenant Governor of Colorado from 1995 to 1999. She had previously served as Colorado State Treasurer from 1982 to 1990. She was the unsuccessful Democratic nominee for Governor of Colorado in 1998, losing to current governor Bill Owens by 7,783 votes. Since then, Schoettler has remained active in politics, and some believe she would run again in 2006, when Owens will be prevented by term limits from seeking reelection. Deciding against running for Governor, she threw her support behind gubernatorial front-runner and Democratic nominee Bill Ritter.
