"Higher Than Hope" is the eleventh song on the album Once, released in 2004 by the symphonic metal band Nightwish. Most of the music was by Marco Hietala, while lyrics were by Tuomas Holopainen. The song was inspired by Marc Brueland, a Nightwish fan who died of cancer in 2003. The song includes Marc's voice in dialogue excerpts from a news interview after his first surgery in 1995.
