Home By the Sea is a suite of two songs by English progressive rock band Genesis off of their eponoymous album. The song was written at a point in Genesis' career where they were transistioning from progressive rock to pop rock. As such, this piece brilliantly combines simplistic and catchy pop phrases and the extended piece writing charactaristic of prog into one great two-part piece. Played together, Home By the Sea and Second Home By the Sea are over 11 minutes long. Both sections of the piece were featured on Live/The Way We Walk, Volume Two: The Longs and the boxed set Platinum Collection.
