Hong Kong Third District Division League

Hong Kong Third 'District' Division League is a league under HKFA. It is the third level of football leagues in Hong Kong, under Hong Kong First Division League and Hong Kong Second Division League. After the league games, the 1st and 2nd finishing teams would play with the 1st and 2nd teams of Hong Kong Third 'A' Division League (which is also the third level of Hong Kong football leagues) to compete for the two promotion places to Second Division.

The league was estiablished in 2002-2003 season. Each District Council would establish or support a team to enter the league. In the first season, there were 11 competing teams and in 2005-2006, all 18 distircts have their own representing teams. [1]
Tai Po FC (Wofoo Tai Po in 2006-07) is the first team to promote from Third 'District' Division to First Division. Before the establishment of Third 'District' Division, only 2 teams (Yuen Long and Tsuen Wan) were able to get promoted from the former Third Division to First Division.
