Hossam Ghaly (Arabic: حسام غالي) (born December 15, 1981 in Kafr El-Sheikh) is an Egyptian football midfielder who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur. Ghaly plays mainly as a defensive midfielder or a central midfielder and less frequently as a right full-back.
Ghaly is a product of Al-Ahly youth team, and he broke into the first team squad in 2001. He played regularly for Al-Ahly until he moved to Feyenoord Rotterdam in 2003. After three troublesome seasons in The Netherlands Ghaly joined Tottenham Hotspur in January 2006.
Ghaly has played 19 international matches for Egypt.

Al-Ahly vs Real Madrid: It was Ghaly's challenge on Real's goalkeeper that set up Ahly's first goal. Ahly eventually won 1-0, on 4 August 2001.
Al-Ahly vs AS Roma: It was Ghaly's challenge on Guardiola that set up Ahly's first goal. Ahly eventually won 2-1.
Besiktas vs Tottenham: Ghaly netted first Spurs goal in an impressive 2-0 away win, seeing the ball hit him and loop over Besiktas goalkeeper Vedran Runje after his initial shot had been saved.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea: An emphatic performance from Ghaly in a 2-1 victory over the Premier League Champions Chelsea.
Blackburn Rovers vs Tottenham: With his side 1-0 down, Ghaly stormed into the penalty area and went down under a challenge from Tugay, winning the penalty from which Jermain Defoe scored to earn Tottenham a point. In what was bad-tempered match, Ghaly was sent off by referee Phil Dowd late on for leaning with his elbow in an aerial challenge with Michael Gray. In the ensuing altercation his manager Martin Jol appeared to have been red carded for arguing with the referee, but later clarification proved this to be untrue.
In the match between Portsmouth F.C. and Tottenham he had four teeth knocked out by Noe Pamarot, but finished the first half.[1]
On the 11th March 2007, he scored only his second goal for Tottenham in a 3-3 draw with Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter final at Stamford Bridge.
