[edit] Synopsis
The episode opens up with Dr. Gregory House and Dr. James Wilson in House's apartment, and as they leave they run into a neighbor of House, Kalvin, who claims to have been 'waiting for an appointment.' House refuses to treat him, but after 'accidentally' knocking him over, Kalvin goes into shock and he's instantly rushed to the hospital.
Kalvin is found out to have HIV, but House 'insists Kalvin has an opportunistic infection.' During one of the examinations, Kalvin accidentally coughs HIV-positive blood onto Cameron's face, and she is forced to confront the possibility that her life may be changed forever. During a scene where Kalvin thinks he's dying, he tells the diagnostic team 'tell my father I'm sorry' which arouses House's curiosity. Meanwhile, Cameron gets high on Kalvin's drugs and she seduces Chase.
The reunion between Kalvin and his dad isn't going too well, as Kalvin's father is blaming Kalvin for his mother's death. However, when House discovers Kalvin's father is suffering from unique symptoms himself he must figure out if they are connected and solve the puzzle to save both father and son. It turns out Kalvin's dad had been diagnosed with cirrhosis, but the end result House diagnosis them with: "Parasitic cysts from a bug called echinococcosis. Touch a dead fox, they jump aboard, they can hunker down for decades."
During all this, House tries to win Stacey back by capturing and diagnosing a rat in her home. He also manages to find out about Cameron and Chase's 'fiasco.'
