In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is a rock album by the band Iron Butterfly, released in 1968 (see 1968 in music). The album is also currently available in a Deluxe Edition CD, with three versions of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida": the 17 minute studio version, an 18 minute live version (Roughly the first minute is just the band tuning up, so the song itself runs the normal seventeen minutes-- despite omitting the bass-drum jam and lengthening the drum and organ solos), and the (roughly) three minute single version. Except for "Termination," all of the songs were written by Doug Ingle. This was the first album to earn an RIAA platinum award.
