I would also like to say that I recently saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and 300, and they were both awesome.

Some Thoughts

I've noticed that on a great many Wikipedia articles there is huge bias and false information (sometimes honest mistakes, but most often blatant lies). This is most common on controversial articles, especially those relating to the Former Yugoslavia. Many things on these articles vex me greatly, including:-

  • Nationalist POV.
  • Editors who are not fluent (or near fluent) in English.
  • Editors who add information that is so obviously false, that when you read it you feel like laughing, and anyone who believes it is the biggest idiot ever. For example, one editor once claimed that "the Bosnian language is older than Croatian or Serbian" - obviously false since the Bosnian "language" didn't exist until after the Bosnian Wars, and Croatian and Serbian literature has existed for over 1000 years.
  • Editors using the most dubious sources to justify their false information. What's worse is, when there are many reliable sources out there contradicting the false information, but the editor finds one (dubious) source claiming otherwise and uses it as a reference for their lies.
  • The "theft" of other nation's history. For example, Greeks claiming Alexander the Great (and all things Macedonia) as theirs when it is not.
  • It especially is annoying that Muslimani try to claim early Bosnia's history as theirs and only theirs. It's fine for a nation to define itself by religion, but if the defining feature that separates Muslimani as a nation from Croats and Serbs is Islam, then their nation only existed from the time they became Muslim, and all history that happened in Bosnia prior to this is not part of their nation's history, but part of the history of Croats and Serbs, since the Muslimani (or "Bosniaks" as they now wish to be called, most likely so people will mistake Bosnia's history for theirs) were Croats and Serbs who converted to Islam when the Turks invaded.

People I admire

Now that my ethnic rant is over, I'll move on to other things. I'm going to explain why I admire the people I admire:-

  • Alexander the Great - A great conqueror who ruled the world while still a young man. A great example of the Macedonian (not Greek) people.
  • Julius Caesar - I always love a good dictator. Especially one who is a great conqueror, statesman and can break the power of a corrupt and uncaring Senate.
  • King Tomislav - The first and greatest Croatian king.
  • Gough Whitlam - Australia's best Prime Minister. Unfairly and unjustly dismissed by a Governor-General who had a huge ego. If there is such a thing as justice, the current government should be dismissed, and Whitlam's returned to finish off the job.
  • Bob Hawke - Australia's second best Prime Minister. A drinking record is always a good thing to have.
  • Leo Tolstoy - Anarchism and Christianity combined - what more could you want.
  • Pope John Paul II - Best Pope ever.
  • Yasser Arafat - Heroic freedom fighter, who was justified in all his actions.
  • Tito - Held together a country that had six republics, three languages and a whole lot of people who weren't really fond of each other. Also he drove the Nazi's out of Yugoslavia, and I guess that's good.

Notes: *When I say Alexander the Great is not Greek, I'm not trying to say that he is the same as the modern Slav Macedonians (we all know that is not true). What I'm saying is that the Ancient Greeks and Ancient Macedonians were different people. *If you think the term "Muslimani" is a slur, please read Muslims by nationality and Bosniaks to see why it is not a slur.

Yes, why not?

Are you having a bad day? Is there some new user or anonymous user doing something that is contrary to your point of view, or they are just plain old pissing you off? Is there a registered user who you hate, and you wish to provoke and piss them off? Then why not accuse the new/anon user of being that person's sockpuppet. Yes it's the latest craze, and I must admit, it's happened to me many times. So next time you're pissed off at an anon, do the right thing, and accuse an editor whom you hate of sockpuppetry.

Quotes

This is a section of quotes which I find interesting or amusing. As I remember more of them, or come across more, this list shall grow.

Ausrtalian Flag

Do you have a solution to the Yugoslav problem? If so, speak about it here.

I believe Kosovo is, and always should be, Serbian.

The way it's meant to be.

Read my opinion about Yugoslavia here.
