My name is José R. Quintanilla and I was born September 13, 1987). I am an American-born university undergraduate student of Honduran and Salvadoran descent.
[edit] Early life
I was prematurely born in West Carson/Torrance, California to Salvadoran Douglas A. Quintanilla (born January 24, 1965) and Honduran Miriam Quintanilla (née Paredes) (born April 19, 1965). QuinI have three younger siblings: Mercedes J. (born June 28, 1991), Anna M. (born June 18, 1994), and Alejandro "Alex" A. (born January 16, 1997).
I was raised in Los Angeles, California where I attended Queen Anne Place Elementary School, John Burroughs Middle School, and graduated from the Humanities Magnet at Hamilton High School on June 17, 2005. In 2005, despite doing bad on my SAT's, I was admitted to the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla, California where I currently working towards my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Japanese Language.
[edit] Career
I plan on obtaining a BA degree from UCSD and in the future a Master's Degree in another field. At the present time, I am unsure of what field to go into. My definite future goals include becoming a congressman and eventually president of the United States.
[edit] Present day
As of 2007, I am attending UCSD in his pursuit of a BA degree. In July of this year, I will begin my year-long study at International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan.

[edit] Beliefs/Upbringing
[edit] Religion
From an early age, Quintanilla was raised as a Roman Catholic. As a child, he embraced the religious beliefs of his family and explored other Christian sects such as Mormonism and the Jehova's Witnesses. Despite his religious upbringing, Quintanilla soon lost interest and faith in religion. At 13, he rejected all religion and declared himself an atheist.
Quintanilla, as an atheist, believes in a secular world devoid of religious influence in all but private matters. Though he does not hate religion, Quintanilla believes it has been a main contributor to many of the world's problems. After his rejection of religion and the adoption atheism, he became antagonistic towards the strict hierarchy and indoctrination of organized religion. Quintanilla, however, has not completely rejected the notion of god and is open to new religious ideas.
