[edit] Welcoming
Hello. I just saw your message on Meelar's talk page. Meelar is the only human being known to welcome people faster than a bot can. :-) Every change made to any page in Wikipedia shows up on Recent Changes. There are a lot of us who patrol Recent Changes, making sure all of the edits are good. When we see someone whose name is in red, that means they've not written anything on their user page and are probably a new user. We then check to make sure they've been welcomed. Meelar just happens to be very fast at welcoming people. I would like to add my welcome. I hope you enjoy editing here. [edit] Smash Mouth and The Waterboys
Hi. I'd like to get the article on The Waterboys fully referenced, and I notice that you made this edit that included The Waterboys as an influence on Steven Harwell. Do you happen to have a reference for that? It would be very helpful. Thanks. Jkelly 04:10, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
- I can't remember where I read that, but I know I read it somewhere (I didn't make it up). Hm, google wasn't much help, which makes me wonder (I thought google knew everything...). I'll try to find out where I got it from. -Kvaks 21:38, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
- When I made that edit, after reading (somewhere) that Waterboys was one of his influences, I changed "Harwell credits Van Halen, Velvet Revolver, and Elvis Presley as his greatest influences" to "Harwell credits Van Halen, The Waterboys, and Elvis Presley as his greatest influences" thinking that Velvet Revolver is a contemporary band and cannot be a influence on an musician whose career's beginnings predates that band. I now see on the Smash Mouth web site that Harwell lists "Van Halen, Velvet Revolver, and Elvis Presley" as favorite music, not his influence, so I should probably change that whole sentence in the Harwell WP article. I'm still sure that I read somewhere that The Waterboys was an infuence on him (incredible as it may sound), else there's no way I'd have made that edit. - Kvaks 22:05, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Can you update some of the links affected by your change of The Bridge (Iain Banks) to The Bridge (novel)? Guinnog 07:21, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Is that really necessary? I updated the only double redirect. Besides, I'm not even sure the move was such a good idea. It depends on the likelyhood of the other novels mentioned on The_Bridge_(disambiguation) getting wikipedia articles (I have no idea how noteworthy they are). It'd be a lot of unnecessary work to change the links if the page is moved back. --Kvaks 12:07, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Laksevaags Bueskyttere.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stan 06:00, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Marionravenpressphoto.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. I reverted your edit to JD Samson because your edit was in uncyclopedic language. If you can think of a way of rewording what you wanted to say which would make it suitable for the article, then please feel free. Perhaps a referenced comment about her being a butch lesbian, rather than just saying that she "looks like a dude". Please message me on my talk page if you have any comments.
