Leave A Whisper is the debut album by Shinedown, a rock/metal band from Jacksonville, Florida. The album was released on July 13, 2003. The album did fairly well, probably due to the success of the singles "Fly From the Inside", and "45". It was rereleased on June 15, 2004, over a year later, to incorporate the cover of the song "Simple Man" by the legendary band Lynyrd Skynyrd, as well as "Burning Bright (Sanford Mix)", and "45 (Acoustic)". This re-release of their debut album passed the 500,000 mark as of this date. The album's singles did fairly well, "Fly From the Inside" reaching number 5, "45" reaching number 3, "Simple Man" reaching number 5, and "Burning Bright" reaching number 2. This success all occurred on the US Mainstream Rock top list.
The album was made by the following instrumental talents:
- Brent Smith - vocals
- Jasin Todd - guitars, lap steel, theremin
- Brad Stewart - bass
- Barry Kerch - drums, and percussion
Leave a Whisper was produced by Atlantic Recording Company. All of the songs on the album were written partly by Brent Smith, with the exception of "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Others who helped write the album include, but are not necessarily limited to, Bob Marlette, Jasin Todd, Brad Stewart, Rick Beato, and Tony Battaglia.

[edit] Fan's Response
Generally fans of the Floridian band Shinedown are satisfied with the album. It is the album that both introduced Shinedown and firmly cemented them in the book of great up-and-coming rock bands of the 2000's. The album not only gained them the respect of many fans and radio stations, but paved the way for their next, and extremely successful, album Us And Them.
