[edit] Reformat
After each game there was a description, the function of this description was never constant; I feel the best is to describe his role in the game as to explain how and where he appears.
The new format is:
Game Name (system(s)) Appearance Description
Or
Game Name (system(s)) – Region Information - Appearance Description

[edit] Smash Bros. as a spinoff
I'm not entirely sure that Super Smash Bros. is a spinoff of the Mario series. It's true that the Mario series has the greatest representation in the Smash Bros. games, but isn't that just because of popularity? The only link I can see with the Mario series is the controls being simple for a multiplayer game. Toomai Glittershine 12:26, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- Should we vote? Rlk89 12:09, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- Sure. We can vote whether it says as part of the Mario series or not. I'll just mention that a "no preference" vote owuld keep it that way it is. Toomai Glittershine 13:12, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] List seems incomplete
Where's Yoshi's Island? It's mentioned when it's re-released for the GBA... but what about when it was originally released?--Biggman15 06:50, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- It's full name is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.--Rlk89 00:22, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- The sad part... Is that I knew that... But I still missed it... Sorry... :)--Biggman15 04:25, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mario Kart Arcade GP 2
It's listed under both 2006 and TBA. If it's going to be released this year, then it's not TBA. It's it is unknown when it will be released, then it's TBA and the 2006 part is fancruft. Which is it? -- 69.233.222.102 03:51, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- Every search I do ends up the same. The game doesn't have a release date yet. So, it's TBA. -- Jelly Soup 05:59, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Why is Donkey Kong listed as a spin-off?
Why is this the case? Isn't it the opposite, really? 85.230.32.136 02:55, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Your right how should we post the relation thou? --Rlk89 01:11, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Punch Out? Tennis?
Why are these games listed as Mario games? You don't play as Mario, nor is he part of the game aside from a cameo. -- Jelly Soup 02:37, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- The article says:
- Over the years, Mario has appeared in at least 130 popular video games to date, both with starring and less significant roles. Here is a chronological list of licensed games that Mario has appeared in.
- Camios may support the plot or may play a small role in the game or the promotion of the game. Punch Out and Tennis include his camios. this list include all of marios apperances weather big or small. --Rlk89 01:04, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Helps if I read, right? Hahaha....ha.... -- Jelly Soup 07:09, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Virtual Console
Should virtual console releases for the wii really be here, it is a VIRTUAL console, and it seems that so many of these games will just be here twice or three times. putting these is redundant, but i will not remove because i don't know if i am alone in this, but i'm putting in my two cents. --72.138.175.46
- No they should not be removed, because they are official releases, and they should be treated as the Super Famicom Satellaview, because games that are released for the VIRTUAL console can be "new" in that they may have been previously unreleased. --Rlk89 00:56, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
-
- They are official releases, but they are not new releases, I understand documenting where a game was release and it differs from the previous version in some way, but Nintendo has stated that they are the exact same roms as what appeared on the consoles years ago. If they were different in some way, I would understand the need for new entries. With that said, I would like to suggest a couple possibilities, a general link to the virtual console games list, or, adding a note beside game entries where the game was released for the virtual console in the exact same form as the previous, which would include the year the virtual console version was released, and possibly have it link to the virtual console games list. --FiveIron 06:36, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

-
- They are not new releases, but they are official releases, official releases of a game that includes mario should simply be listed as official releases of a game that includes mario, regardless of new content or not. --Rlk89 23:40, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mushroom Kingdom Hearts
This is not a game but an April Fool's joke done Electronic Gaming Monthly. The issue it came out in was the April one. And EGM is known for its April Fools jokes. Heck there is a wikipedia entry on it. I removed it from the list
