What is it that is hoped to be achieved with this list? If the aim is to list all snake species, then it will eventually contain some 2,700 entries. If all subspecies are to be included, I would think that at least 1,000 more entries can be expected. However, if this article is an attempt to list all the common names of all snake species and subspecies, then it will become a very long list indeed and will never be complete. This is because many species (particularly those in the Unites States) often have many English common names (e.g. berg adder and mountain adder, a.k.a. the Cape mountain adder). --Jwinius 12:44, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
